Our 4th Annual Gala for the Foundation was a great success!
On October 25th, Manoir Hovey in North Hatley hosted the 4th annual gala benefiting the Massawippi Valley Health Foundation (MVHF). Over 100 participants were present and the evening was a great success, raising more than $50,500 thanks to the generosity of our partners, sponsors, and donors. A big thank you to everyone who contributed!
“This event showed once again the profound commitment of our community to better health access for all people of our region,” said Michel Rodrigue, President of the Foundation.
Our guest speaker, Monique F. Leroux, shared her love for North Hatley and her attachment to the region through several delightful personal anecdotes. She then invited her surprise guest, Pierre Cossette, the Rector of the University of Sherbrooke (UdS), to join her for a discussion about this institution, which is a pillar of local dynamism. Ms. Leroux also serves as the chair of the board of UdS.
After a brief introduction highlighting Dr. Cossette’s impressive career, the two engaged in a discussion of the major achievements of UdS and emphasized its valuable contributions to the region. He shared his vision of an inclusive university open to the world, in a society that fully values higher education as a lever for community development.
This dynamic and enriching conversation revealed very committed leaders working for the benefit of the region. The evening concluded with the presentation of the “Community Builder Award (2024)” to Margot Graham Heyerhoff, president of the Massawippi Foundation in recognition of her contribution to the preservation of our unique ecosystem as well as her support for health care in the community.
