A GRANT of $ 16,500 – NEW HORIZONS for SENIORS PROGRAM

Sherbrooke, March 20th, 2025 – Honorable Marie-Claude Bibeau announced funding for 17 seniors’ organizations in her riding of Compton-Stanstead. These community organizations will share $292 595 to carry out activities, acquire equipment and renovate infrastructure so that seniors can remain active in their community.

It was with immense gratitude that we learned of the federal government’s invaluable support through the New Horizons for Seniors Program. Thanks to this $16,500 grant, our Foundation will be able to continue and strengthen its commitment to seniors, offering them initiatives that are essential to their well-being and quality of life

The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) community-based stream is a federal grant. It supports projects that are designed by seniors and for seniors in their communities. This program funds projects that empower seniors in their communities and contribute to improving their health and well-being

For several years, this program has played a key role in our mission. It enables us to implement activities that have a concrete impact and to:

✅ Promote physical and psychological well-being

✅ Break isolation

✅ Promote the social involvement and self-esteem of seniors

This grant represents much more than financial support: it’s a recognition of our work and a vote of confidence in our ability to meet the needs of seniors in Vallée Massawippi. Thank you also to our partners, volunteers, coordinators and donors, who enable us, day after day, to make a real difference.

Together, we’re building a community where every senior can age in dignity, surrounded and secure.
