The North Hatley Community Health Centre will open its doors Monday, November 2.

North Hatley, September 8, 2026 — The Massawippi Valley Health Foundation (FSVM) is delighted to announce the opening of the North Hatley Community Health Centre at 217 Mill Street on Monday 2 November, providing healthcare services to residents of North Hatley and surrounding communities.

FSVM’s first service delivery partner at the Centre is Doma Santé, a private healthcare provider recognised for the quality of its services, its people-centred approach and its operational efficiency. This partnership is fully in line with our Foundation’s mission to improve access to healthcare with services characterized by proximity, accessibility, and excellence.

Primary care based on an innovative model

Doma Santé is a medical clinic that provides primary, fee-for-service care through an innovative model that draws on the expertise of nurse-clinicians. Thanks to Government approved medical protocols and so-called “group prescriptions”, these nurses can assess and treat many common health issues, initiate an extensive list of treatments and, where necessary conditions are met, prescribe certain medications.

Where the situation requires it, they can also refer patients directly to a nurse-practitioner or a doctor, enabling the patient to receive care tailored to their needs.

Working in tandem with the public healthcare system, the team can also refer patients to a family doctor, a specialist, or any other appropriate resource. Doma Santé’s fees may be covered by private health insurance policies and, in some cases, qualify for a tax credit.

Doma Santé will welcome its first patients starting November 2, 2026, from Monday to Friday and on certain Saturdays.

A first step towards a long-term community vision

For the Foundation, the arrival of Doma Santé marks the first stage in the development of the North Hatley Community Health Centre.

“The Foundation’s primary responsibility is to establish this community health centre, but then to develop partnerships with healthcare providers beginning with Doma Santé. As the project gains momentum, the Foundation will develop new services in collaboration with other professionals and organisations in the health sector,” explains Philippe Lapointe, a member of the board of directors of the FSVM.

Ultimately, the Foundation hopes to develop this venue in the heart of North Hatley into a comprehensive community health centre, where various services and professionals meet the needs of the local population.
